Creates Grant for Energy Efficiency Kits

Grants will be made available to provide energy-efficiency starter kits to attendees of the Get a Head Start on Energy education program.

The educational materials include Facilitator’s guide with DVDs to be used for hands-on instruction about wise energy use. Materials are available in English and Spanish.

The kits contain items such as weather stripping, electrical outlet insulators, compact fluorescent lamps and a low-flow shower head.

Deadline to apply for grants is February 28, 2013.

Grants will be awarded in April and must be used within one year.

The Nebraska Energy Assistance Network (NEAN) is a statewide coalition of utilities, human service and governmental agencies and community leaders partnering with local non-profit agencies to educate Nebraskans on ways to improve their energy use.
